Juice or Wine

  •    First blot as much of the liquid up as possible using an old towel or rag, then put white vinegar on the stain and let it sit for at least 15 mins. Blot that up as well, do not try to rub the stain out it can make it worse.

  • Get the residual off the carpet by wetting a towel and placing over the wax. Iron on medium heat in increments of about 30 seconds moving iron back and forth- be careful not to burn the rug. Most of the wax should stick to the towel. Use rubbing alcohol or wet a tooth brush and dip it in baking soda and scrub out the rest.

Gum

  • Ugh that’s annoying isn’t it?! Start by putting ice on the gum and let it get hard, you should be able to remove most of it by pulling it up. For the bits that are stuck to the threads put a small amount of olive oil on a rag and rub at the area. You may want to test this on a small hidden area prior to make sure it doesn’t cause discoloration of the carpet.

Nail Polish

  •  This happens to all of us, there it is classic nail polish spill. If you get it while its still wet this easy tip should get it right out! All you need for this one is rubbing alcohol and a little elbow grease. Pour rubbing alcohol over the spill and let sit for about 10 mins, after letting it soak in rub with an old cloth and as you’re rubbing add more alcohol if you need to to loosen the rest, keep rubbing and BAM should be removed! Rinse with water to reduce the smell of the rubbing alcohol.

Almost Anything Else

  • Pet stains… blood..old food..who knows what that is…this concoction should do the trick. This is an easy one too, first hit it with a little dish dawn soap. Is there anything that cant clean? Dilute it by mixing it with water put some on the stain and give it a minute or two to soak in, then use a tooth brush to scrub at the area. Next, do the same thing with white vinegar (add a little water, let soak, and scrub). Use just water to rinse the area after to dim the smell- if the stain is still there give it another round of the same process.
